Ukraine Appeal
We were approached by one of our parents about helping with an appeal to create emergency kits for people fleeing Ukraine. Having sent this information to parents we were overwhelmed by the response. Some parents had shared this in their places of work and others with their neighbours all encouraging this simple act of giving. For our children it was important to acknowledge what they were hearing from the news and focus on a practical way of showing love and kindness to those in need. One of our children sold sweets and treats to the St Martin’s congregation and used the £101 she raised to create 20 emergency kits. Our Herne family filled five vans to the brim with clothes, kits, blankets and essentials. We always talk to our children about sharing God’s love and this was the perfect demonstration of love in action!
