We have had such exciting topics this term including Animals From Cold Places and Chinese New Year
Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers was our chosen book for our Shared Storytelling. We learnt the story off by heart, were able to order the pictures to create a story map and then used the story map to help us retell the story. We even wrote our own version of the story titled ‘The lost Polar Bear’.
Seeing how we have progressed with our handwriting patterns have enabled us to begin learning to write in a cursive, joined up script.
Exploring one more and addition using objects such as cubes, bears and fingers. We learnt how to add mentally as well as using number sentences.
Ordering numbers and continuing our numeral formation up to 20.
Learning the names and properties of common 2D and names of 3D shapes
Learning about digraphs and trigraphs
Making many themed arts and crafts including snowflakes, snowmen, winter scenes, Chinese lanterns and dragons
Cooking and tasting Chinese food using chopsticks
Moving and dancing to music from different countries
Seeing real snow fall in the playground and catching the snowflakes on our bodies!
