Learning Through Play
Every day during the week the children have learning through play opportunities where in this time they develop skills which enable them to be lifelong learners. Some of these skills are, making relationships, listening skills, team work skills, gross and fine motor skills, investigating skills and many more that enable the children to be independent and confident learners.
During this time, the children get an opportunity to explore the outdoor area, garden area and the classroom area. Whilst in these areas the children are provided the opportunity to enhance the skills they have been taught and put them into practise within their own time. During this time they will learn how to adapt what they have been taught as well as learn something completely new which could then help them achieve more within their learning.
We encourage the children to be independent learners and we do this by allowing them and providing them as many opportunities as possible to choose their resources and to make important decisions about what they are learning.
