Living our Values
Fund raising and building community.
At Herne we live out our Christian Values of Trust, Respect, Honesty, Forgiveness and Love. These values underpin what we say and do at Herne. We talk everyday about how we can show these values to each other and to our wider community. Some ways in which we show these values to our community are:
Hosting community coffee mornings for people who live locally. We enjoy getting to know the Community Warden and the local residents over cake and squash and sharing songs and stories together. It is a time that is highly valued by children and adults alike.
Donating items to the Food Bank.
Inviting local residents to our Christingle Celebration.
Raising money for Children in Need by dressing up and taking part in activities across the school.
Holding a whole School race for life event to raise money for Cancer Research.
Raising money for Comic Relief by dressing up.
NSPCC Fundraising Keep-Fit
We have been doing a sponsored keep fit session to raise money and awareness of the work done by the NSPCC to help children speak out.
A lady from the NSPCC came to speak to us about what they do and how to get help if we are in need.
We raised money by keeping moving for 10 minutes. It was tough work but great fun and a great feeling to be able to help others through our keep fit session.
